SUMMARY:
Leads the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, establishing ERM processes and tools to appropriately identify, assess and mitigate PNMR key risks. Initiates, plans and manages multiple annual ERM processes under the direction of the Executive Director of Treasury and in consultation with senior management and leaders across all PNM Resources Business Units. Manages risk owners¿ contributions and engagement in the ERM program to achieve process objectives, meet key reporting deadlines and advance the Company's risk aware culture. Plays a key role in selected projects designed to mitigate strategic and high-impact risks. Oversees ongoing data gathering of key metrics and business updates, interfacing with the Investor Relations team in support of senior management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and maintains effective relationships with key contacts and senior leaders throughout the PNMR businesses to understand their business objectives and the distinct risks to achieving these objectives
Consults, informs, and assists the Company officers in the identification and assessment of important risks, and supports the development of risk mitigation plans aligned with the Company¿s vision, values, and strategic objectives and goals
Provides analysis and recommendations to facilitate robust risk-related discussions among members of Executive Policy Committee, the Board of Directors, and Business Unit leaders
Stays abreast of internal and external developments that may impact the Company's risk profile and leverage this information to provide an independent risk management view on business area and Company-wide projects
Responsible for ongoing data gathering of key metrics and business updates from all Business Units, to support management and the overall Investor Relations process
Trains and provides guidance to risk managers and owners in how to work within the Company's ERM program and to use the ERM framework for documenting and managing their risks
Leads the administration and continuous improvement of the Company's ERM processes, tools, and communications; Benchmarks the PNMR ERM program against other utility and non-utility companies¿ programs
Leads the development of ERM documents for the Board of Directors and senior management that involve numerous sources of information and contributions from multiple authors, including the Annual ERM
Update to the Board and various other risk reports to the Board and Senior Management
Develops process schedules and communicates process objectives and key deadlines to contributors
Collaborates with corporate executives and subject matter experts to design and develop analytical and communication tools to facilitate executive and Board discussions and decision making
Establishes standards and procedures for process inputs and works with ERM participants to implement them in the most efficient manner
Leads the ERM group's efforts to support SEC reporting of risk and risk factors in Proxy, 10K and MD&A to ensure appropriate synchronization with the ERM program risks, including developing text, reviewing drafts, and analyzing risk issues as needed

Ability to constructively challenge ERM process participants, including senior management, to advance enterprise risk management awareness and effectiveness.
Ability to exercise sound judgment to achieve desired performance, effectively manage time, schedule, and track several complex processes work streams and projects simultaneously, and to drive work to completion in a complex, deadline-driven environment.
Collaborator with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to develop extensive contacts.
Ability to effectively use language, document design and graphics design to express complex technical and business concepts in clear, concise, understandable ways to various readers.
Knowledge of the electric industry overall as well as concepts, practices, and procedures and the ability to perform in-depth research on the Company and the industry.
Ability to assess self and department capabilities to frankly identify skill or tools gaps and recommend solutions which may include intra-Company partnering or support from organizations outside the Company.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with seven to nine years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
Strong project and/or process management skills.
Master's Degree is preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
Responsible for staffing, performance management, compensation, training, development, and disciplinary actions for professional-level subordinates.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, equally effective at conveying key information to the Board and senior management and defending positions in formal and informal settings with senior management
Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, financial reports and legal documents.
Ability to effectively give persuasive speeches and presentations on ERM and key strategic topics, as well as controversial or complex topics, to various audiences.
Ability to write complex correspondence and reports and use graphical techniques to successfully convey complex information.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to effectively utilize mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, correlation, and regression.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, especially word and excel, and other common analysis, reporting and presentation software packages.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Office environment.
